Please direct all inquiries to Atlanta partner, David Clarke, Esq. (clarke@sheeleyllp.com 404-835-4029) or Andrew T. Sheeley, Esq. (sheeley@sheeleyllp.com 646-893-2273).
David Clarke will lead the team in Atlanta. David has extensive experience representing healthcare providers, including physicians, hospitals, mental health facilities, addiction treatment centers, assisted living facilities (ALFs), and skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), handling matters from inception through trial. Prior to joining Sheeley LLP, David was a partner at a large national law firm, where he led the firm’s healthcare practice in Atlanta.
In 2017, David was recruited by a large national senior care operator to serve as Associate General Counsel, where he led the company’s risk management and claims department. In that role, he was responsible for managing legal claims nationwide and supervising outside counsel across a portfolio of more than 225 skilled nursing facilities in 20 states.
David’s accomplishments as Associate General Counsel included implementing a pre-lawsuit resolution program staffed internally with attorneys and paralegals. Under his leadership, the program resolved numerous claims without costly litigation, ultimately reducing defense costs by approximately 25%. He also implemented aggressive third-party tenders, redrafted and enforced arbitration agreements across multiple jurisdictions, increased arbitration utilization, and took more cases to trial.
David returned to private practice as a partner in 2023 and joined Sheeley LLP in 2026. His litigation experience, coupled with his in-house accomplishments, places him in a unique and advantageous position to efficiently evaluate lawsuits, rapidly develop defense strategies, and understand how clients measure performance and results.
