Deirdre Tobin is a seasoned litigator with extensive experience representing clients in complex medical malpractice matters, insurance coverage, as well as tort cases related to premises, construction site incidents, trucking, and motor vehicle accidents. She has represented hospitals, nursing homes, municipalities, utility companies, construction companies, small businesses, and large casualty insurers.
Previously, Ms. Tobin was a Partner at a prominent defense firm in Manhattan, New York. She also served as the Managing Attorney of the In-House Staff Counsel Offices in New York and New Jersey for MAPFRE, a global property and casualty insurer, for over eleven years. As managing attorney, she managed the day-to-day operations of offices in these locations and routinely provided legal opinions on various areas of law to her Claims Partners. Additionally, she handled high exposure insurance coverage matters, personal injury, and property damage cases from inception through to trial.
Ms. Tobin started her legal career at the New York City Law Department in the Torts Division and later joined the Special Litigation Unit, handling complex cases against various city agencies. Before pursuing law, she worked as a Consumer Representative for Colgate-Palmolive while completing her law degree.
In 2022-2023, she served as Vice President of Programs for the Suffolk County Women’s Bar Association. She is licensed to practice law in New York State and both the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York Federal Courts.
